Managing fabrics using CIM -- the evolution

This white paper describes the vision within the SNIA to take SAN management and its inherent challenges to the next level. It specifically addresses the challenges of managing a SAN from the network perspective, and describes the industry evolution from device management to fabric. It also attempts to identify the components of the SAN network, the various information sources currently available and how those information sources can be managed in a common information model provided by CIM and WBEM for a fabric.
