Senior Certification Engineer, Unix
Role based Beijing location
A senior level position that will be responsible for testing of various storage arrays and software configurations as interoperability solutions using Veritas Storage Management Software Applications on third party hardware in SAN (Storage Area Network) configurations.
Duties /Responsibilities
Work with a Senior Staff Certification Engineer to prepare lab hardware, systems and applications for system certification and to carry out testing of Veritas products. Tasks include the following:
OS installations and revision/patch updates
Configure and update various Servers and devices such Fibre Channel host bus adapters
Installation and configuration of Fibre Channel disk and RAID storage subsystems
Installations of various applications including storage management and clustering software
Installation and configuration of Fibre Channel switches
Work with other Engineers to help define requirements for specific system certification tests
Execute test strategies and certification test specs
Debug failures to determine root cause
Coordinate incident tracking and resolution during certification testing
Required Knowledge & Skills
Testing experience with the UNIX operating system
A hands-on self-starter with good problem isolation, debugging and troubleshooting skills
The ability to work on multiple projects, in different stages of completion at one time
Knowledge of test processes and methodologies and the ability to apply them
Must work well in a dynamic team oriented environment
Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
Experience in a Storage Networking test environment
Experience in a software/hardware test environment
Experience with VERITAS products is a plus.
Education
BS EE/CS Preferred or equivalent work experience
